Nestled within Wild Horse Valley, at Foothills Nature Preserve you will find Towle Camp (pronounced “Toll”). It is open annually from May 1 through October 31 for tent camping only. Campers with a reservation and permit may ride the half-mile fire road to the campground.
This location is a new one for Upshift Bikepacking trips, but our goal is to make this trip a little more primitive than the last several. Towle allows NO CAMPFIRES!!! So, this is your chance to test your little portable backpacking stove or two burner tabletop stove. Fuel containers may not contain more then 2lbs of gas.
Gear: Visit this link to get a good idea of gear you may or may not need for this or any ridehere – GEAR LIST

Fun Fact: Towle Camp is named for the Towle Family who were landowners in the area of the Foothills and Arastradero Nature Preserves. Foothills Preserve Rules:
• No smoking anywhere in the park, including within vehicles.
• Do not feed the wildlife, including the ducks on Boronda Lake.
• Remote controlled devices such as drones, cars and boats are not permitted.
• Generators and items requiring generators are not allowed.
• Amplified music is allowed but is not to be heard outside your immediate area so others using the park are not disturbed.
• Bicycles are permitted on paved roads only, and not on any trails. All riders must wear helmets. (We have a dispensation to ride on the unpaved half mile road to the campground).
• Please remember that Foothills Park is a nature preserve.
