Our EXT is where the Hook really starts to lead you astray. Utilising Columbus Cromor double-butted steel tubing, a tapered headtube, internal routing for dynamo lighting, and with our signature number of frame mounts, the EXT is ready for anything. Rolling on aggressive 27.5 x 2.0’’ WTB Ranger tyres, this is one very capable and exciting bike when you turn off the tarmac and head onto the trail. We fitted a Seido MGV carbon fork offering triple cage and low rider mounts, internal dynamo cable routing, as well as huge clearance for muddy high volume tyres. Which to choose: speed or storage space? You can have both with a Hook. With an able steel frame and carbon fork, this bike is fast and versatile. Size-matched 650B or 700C wheels across the sizes provide control and comfort, while the Shimano GRX groupset and double crankset give you a close ratio with a broad range of gears. Take your pick from a range of fixing points, including a direct mount for a top tube bag, triple cage mounts, rear rack and fender. Or, leave it stripped back and fly. The Hook might have been designed as a gravel racer, but that doesn’t stop it from also being a perfect tourer, commuter, or even summer-season crossbike.

If the wilderness beckons, the Arise Tour won’t stand in your way with its twin Tubus racks, mudguards and Supernova dynamo lights. Regardless of load, the Ames sub-compact 30 / 46T crankset and generous 11 – 42T cassette mean you’ll always have enough gears to tackle those steeper gradients. For a modern touch, flared bars allow for added packing space as well as sturdier handling while riding on the drops. For touring purists, bar-end shifters give you peace of mind over more complicated combination shifters. As the kilometers roll by, hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power while a sub-compact chainset handles propulsion. A combination of WTB Horizon and Byway tires are fast-rolling over gravel, mud, or dirt. The integrated rear light mount brings discipline into the modern age. Topped off with Ritchey finishing kit, you’ll reach the coast before this bike gives up. Fast on tarmac, and smooth over broken ground, its broad tires contain enough air to carry you and your kit comfortably above a range of surfaces.

This is where our classic Italian steel frame comes face to face with 21st-century American engineering. The Hook Rival AXS uses the same Columbus Cromor double-butted frame as the EXT, but adds wireless electronic 12-speed shifting from SRAM. Using the 10 – 44T cassette and a direct mount 38T chainring means you’ll be even faster along the singletrack sections, plus you’ll be still able to laugh at the technical climbs. Seido’s MGV fork offers loads of mud clearance for grippy WTB 2.0’’ Ranger tyres seated on wide rims for greater support.. Get the map out, plan a route with your friends, load up and head off.

Just sitting in your kitchen, the Hook EXT C screams fast. Whether you are gravel racing or bikepacking with your friends, you’ll be going ‘full-gas’ with a smile on your face. New for 2024 is the T800 carbon frame, complete with optional internal cable routing and our signature collection of mounting points, for when you’re riding fast and light with only frame bags. Upfront, you’ll find the Seido’s MGV fork with its huge tyre clearance, internal cable routing, and multiple mounting points for your kit. SRAM’s APEX AXS groupset provides braking and shifting duties via a 10 – 42T cassette, running with a 38T direct mount chainring on our Bombtrack Lyer crank. The cockpit is from Seido, with the new Tackle handlebar and its 16° flare. All this is tied in with the multi-award winning Hunt 4Season Gravel hoops, sporting WTB 40 mm Venture tyres.

HAUL ASS, NOT CARGO In 2019, Áspero took the gravel world by storm, heralding a “new era of speed in gravel.” Fun, but flat out. The new Áspero remains true to its original brief, but with some improvements: a threaded BB shell, neater cable routing, and a UDH-compatible derailleur hanger for those who want to use SRAM’s Transmission drivetrains. And it’s more aero, of course. In the case of Áspero, aerodynamic performance is less about pure speed as a result of drag reduction, and more about conservation of energy. After a big day in a headwind, the three watts saved over the previous Aspero might add up to one less energy gel your stomach has to digest—WORTH IT. In addition to the drag reduction, we also dropped the seat stays to give a bit more compliance out back, and reduced front-end stiffness slightly to make the last hours of a long race less painful. Between those dropped seat stays, we added in a bit more clearance for mud, too, taking what we learned from R5-CX (and the Unbound mudfest in 2023). It’s a lot of seemingly small improvements, but they add up to a lot. The result is a bike that feels a lot like the original Áspero, but is faster, more comfortable, and more versatile. THREADED BOTTOM BRACKET Aspero uses the asymmetrical T47a threaded bottom bracket we pioneered on R5-CX. It’s a simple, rider-serviceable interface that allows us to deliver the benefits of BBRight in a more user-friendly form. UNIVERSAL DERAILLEUR HANGAR We used SRAM’s Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) standard on the new Aspero. It’s ideal if you want to live your best ‘business in the front, party in the back’ life with one of SRAM’s Transmission drivetrains today, and ensures compatibility for future drivetrain developments. INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING Aspero shares the same bearing dimensions as R5, Soloist, R5-CX, and Caledonia, which means you can use any combination of bearing caps and stems.
